Education for all Children
EducationOne of the most important things we receive at an early age which sets us up for a successful future is EDUCATION!
Education, although something that some people love to hate, is so imperative in helping us to build and establish a strong foundation for our world. Often times, people take advantage of what they get for free, not realizing that this basic need is not something that everyone has access to. Indeed as they say, “the best things in life are free…” In most cases this is true. Love is free; health is free; friendship is free; family, self-belief, and self-worth indeed are free, but what about those in indigent communities who do not have an opportunity to get an education? It is definitely not free for them.
In the UK we get a “free” education, but is it really? No, of course not! The fees are covered by taxpayers; you know, when money is taken out of your wages by the government. We all know this happens and it is not always something we enjoy, but it is needed for the greater good of others. One of the things our taxes go into is the educational system. So although kids in the UK get a “free” education, someone is paying for it – the taxpayer.
But have you ever thought for a second about those who do not have taxpayers, affluent parents, and a government paying for them to get an education? I am talking about indigent children, those living in inner-city communities; places heavily plagued by poverty., Yet they need it, not just for their personal growth but the growth of their economy. Have you ever thought about the major impact a good education can do for children in such communities?
In an ever-growing and expanding world, it is clear to see just how important education is to us, our societies, and our economies as a whole. Education is a building block that helps to build a sustainable society. Today’s child is tomorrow’s future, so it is important that we usher them into success at very young ages. By giving indigent children access to education and helping them learn and build skills, we are molding them to become profitable members of society. Which will, in turn, help us to build, maintain and sustain vibrant and economically stable communities, safe for future generations to live in.
The bettering of the lives of these indigent children are in our hands, they need us. So why don’t we make education “free” to these ones who really need it? As I said earlier, in the UK where children get free education, education isn’t actually free; there are people (taxpayers) who are paying for their education, free school meals, school supplies, etc. Why then don’t we become “the taxpayer” and sponsor an indigent child’s education which only costs just under £80 a year (or $100)? This works out to be around £6 a month which is under £2 a week. You probably spend more than that on a cup of coffee on your way to work every morning. Can you cut it out just once in the week or month and use that £2 a week to make a difference in one indigent child’s life? School is back in and millions of kids will miss out this year due to poverty, but we can do something about this. We can give indigent children who cannot afford an education a place in school because all children deserve to have an education and deserve to dream and aspire to their dreams.
So, let us play our part, sponsor a child today. I know I will, WILL YOU?
